Amazonia Nativa

Amazonia Nativa is an agroforestry and reforestation project based in Colombia's Amazon region, financed by Impact Fund Denmark (IFU) with a DKK 7.8 million loan in 2024. The project seeks to reforest up to 5,000 hectares of degraded cattle-grazed pastureland with native species, simultaneously promoting sustainable food production, creating new local jobs in planting and harvesting, and sequestering CO2 over a 30-year horizon. Its theory of change centers on converting non-productive land into forest assets that deliver blended environmental and social impact — new biodiversity corridors, decent rural employment, and measurable carbon sequestration — while operating a sustainable commercial forestry business model.
