Aimmune developed and commercialized oral treatments for potentially life-threatening food allergies using its Characterized Oral Desensitization ImmunoTherapy (CODIT) approach, intended to provide meaningful protection against allergic reactions from accidental exposure to food allergens by desensitizing patients with defined, precise amounts of key allergens. Its FDA-approved medicine Palforzia was the first and only approved treatment to reduce the frequency and severity of allergic reactions to peanuts in children. Nestle Health Science acquired Aimmune in 2020 for approximately $2.6 billion.
