Afterlife is a New York City circular urban farm that turns restaurant and food-establishment scraps into fresh, local, sustainable mushrooms instead of sending them to landfill. Its mission is to prevent food waste from generating greenhouse gas emissions by making upcycling easier, more transparent, and more accessible for food businesses. The farm cultivates more than 20 mushroom species and works with restaurant and hospitality partners who reuse the mushrooms in their recipes, closing the loop from city block to chopping block.
