The company became a technology and market leader in thermal management, supplying heat sinks, thermal interface materials, and cooling systems to OEM customers across telecom, computing, and other electronics industries. In 1999 Aavid acquired Thermalloy, Inc., and the business later became part of Boyd Corporation, which was itself acquired by Eaton; the aavid.com website now redirects to Eaton's Boyd Thermal business page.
