A-Traction

A-Traction Inc. was a Japanese medical robotics startup spun out of the National Cancer Center (NCC) in Japan, founded in August 2015, that developed the ANSUR surgical support robot — a device designed to assist laparoscopic surgeons by providing precision organ traction and manipulation during minimally invasive procedures such as rectal cancer surgery. The company's robotics technology aimed to reduce surgeon fatigue, improve procedural consistency, and expand access to high-precision laparoscopic surgery. A-Traction was acquired by Asahi Intecc Co., Ltd. in July 2021 and subsequently renamed Asahi Surgical Robotics Co., Ltd., which continues to advance the commercialization of the endoscopic surgical robot platform.
